Those young ‘uns on the folk scene aren’t afraid of a bit of metaphorical bed-hopping. Josienne Clarke, part of an award-winning duo with Ben Walker since 2011, has recently joined up with Scottish singer-songwriter Samantha Whates to create Pica Pica, a new acoustic project (Josienne and Ben have a new EP out next week, so we can assume he’s down with this kind of partner swapping…).
Pica Pica have their own EP in the offing, Spring and Shade, which looks to be a collection of stunning harmonies if Josienne and Samantha’s past collaborations are anything to go by. This live track, recorded in the Netherlands, is already on my Curiosity playlist.
